Discover Borgen
Link TV (DirecTv 375, Dish 9410) is showing Borgen, an excellent Danish series that’s reminiscent of West Wing and The Newsroom. The show stars Sidse Babett Knudsen, who you may remember from Susanne Bier’s After the Wedding, as Denmark’s first female Prime Minister and her efforts to hold together a thin parliamentary majority as well as her fractured family. Running on a separate track is the story of an intrepid newscaster (Søren Malling) who searches for the truth while battling his own personal demons. Produced by the creators of The Killing, Borgen won a BAFTA for best international TV series and has been called "the best political show ever” by Newsweek. The episodes are also available online HERE.

I totally agree. This series is superb, recommended. And unlike The Killing, seasons 2 and 3 are also excellent.
Sounded good until you mentioned politics. Ugh. Back to "Dr. Who" for me!
