If all our politicians weren't in the pocket of big oil, we could have high speed rail in the US. Damn shame. Anyway, a pleasant three hours later we were in the City of Lights.
We put a Lock of Love on the bridge
We stayed at the beautiful Hotel de l'Abbaye, and they were wonderful to us. Highly recommended.
And the food...my goodness the food....
The weather was cold and wet for most of our time there. Not what we were hoping for with "April in Paris." But when a city is this freaking gorgeous, who cares about weather?
To be Continued....

What is a "lock of love"?
You take a padlock with your and your beloved's names engraved or written on with a sharpie. You then lock it to the guardrail on this bridge by Notre Dame. You keep one key and throw the other into the river. I thought it was something new, but apparently it's been going on for a while.

How very, extremely cool.
What a great record of your trip. We were in Paris ten days ago - most unseasonal for April! But as you say, does it matter? Bon voyage (or -"continuation").
Sounds like we just missed you Deborah. We left on the 14th. Seems like ages ago now.
