Criterion Collection: Le Havre (2011)✭✭✭✭


Aki Kaurismäki’s Le Havre is a charming and engrossing fable – a sort of Fractured Fairy Tale for adults – that interprets one of today’s most contentious political issues through the director’s distinctly eccentric prism.

Is the artwork in the film like the artwork on the cover? (I ask because I've been fooled more than once by comic books that have great cover art and the inside is complete shite.) Looks delicious!

No the movie is straightforward photography. The illustrations on the cover and the enclosed booklet were done by an Italian comic book artist.
